Carfra and Lawton LLP is pleased to announce that R. Amos Comeau and Timothy J. Wedge joined the firm’s partnership on January 1, 2020.
Amos graduated with his LLB from Queen’s University in 2005 and was called to the bars of Ontario (2006) and British Columbia (2007). He has worked in insurance defence and commercial litigation his entire career. He joined Carfra Lawton in 2015, and continues to regularly provide advice to insurers, government bodies, and companies; and to act for professionals, businesses, and individuals. Amos’ expertise includes a range of insurance-related matters including personal injury, property damage, professional liability, subrogation and coverage issues. Amos continues to represent his clients and their insureds before courts and tribunals throughout British Columbia.
Tim obtained his LLB from the University of Saskatchewan in 2009 and was called to the bar in 2010. He joined Carfra Lawton in 2016. Tim has worked in insurance defence since graduation from law school, and regularly provides advice to, and acts for, health authorities, school districts, municipalities, non-profits, professionals and businesses in the areas of professional negligence, medical malpractice, construction, property damage, and personal injury. He also provides advice to insurers in respect of insurance coverage. Tim has appeared before the Provincial Court of British Columbia, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the British Columbia Court of Appeal. He has also appeared before the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal, the British Columbia Civil Resolutions Tribunal, and the British Columbia Coroner’s Court.
