Prior to attending law school, Emma worked for the Women In Need Society for nearly four years as their marketing and public relations officer. She organized many fundraising events, and spoke to a variety of audiences on the Society’s involvement in the community. Emma enjoys Vancouver Island’s great landscape, and loves to hike, cycle, kayak and run. She participates often in the Victoria half and full marathon events.

Areas of Practice

Emma first joined Carfra & Lawton as a summer articling student in 2005. Since the completion of her articles in May 2007, she has focused her practice in insurance defence litigation, including occupier’s liability, personal injury and administrative law. Emma conducts trials and appears in Chambers in both the BC Provincial Court and BC Supreme Court.
