Kristine was born in Port Alberni, BC and moved to Victoria in 1990. She was a competitive figure skater for 14 years, prior to becoming a competitive rower in 1995. Kristine experienced much success as a rower, including rowing for the Junior National Team, receiving rowing scholarships to attend both Berkeley and Michigan, and winning the NCAA championships in 2001. She rowed briefly with the Senior National Team in the summer of 2001, before retiring and hanging up her oars. Today, Kristine enjoys long distance running, yoga, volleyball, hiking, and cycling. Kristine has a passion for travel and experiencing different cultures, which led her to live in eastern Poland, where she taught English in 2001-2002. Kristine is fluent in French. She currently sits as a figure skating judge for Skate Canada on Vancouver Island.
Areas of Practice
Kristine returned to Victoria and joined Carfra & Lawton in June of 2008. Kristine was a summer student and articled student with a national firm at both its Vancouver and Montreal offices. During her articles, Kristine focused predominantly on civil litigation, with a particular interest in Labour and Employment Law. Since joining Carfra & Lawton, Kristine practices in the areas of employment law, health law, general insurance defence litigation, occupier’s liability, and personal injury law. Kristine has a strong interest in mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
