My Bio
Anne Cameron’s litigation practice includes considerable experience in defending and mediating civil actions. She has defended a variety of clients in the areas of insurance law, personal injury and health law for the past 25 years, in addition to her earlier years of experience in these areas in the capacity of a nurse/legal assistant.
Anne’s former nursing career and subsequent legal experience in the defence of personal injury/insurance claims and the defence of malpractice claims (including on behalf of hospitals, nurses and midwives) have provided her with exposure to many types of major loss injuries, medical-legal issues and evidentiary matters regarding experts.
Anne has extensive experience in defending brain injury and major loss injury claims. Her knowledgeable approach in the assessment of these claims and in the development of expert evidence provides clients with substantive insights to assist in their handling and defence of such claims.
Her nursing background and understanding of medical issues also allows her to communicate well and work effectively with numerous medical experts in a range of disciplines. Anne often acts as a valuable resource for other lawyers within the firm when challenging medical issues arise.

What is your favorite legal term?
A medical term which Anne finds of interest in the medical-legal context is an “iatrogenic” injury or disability, when an injury or disability is induced inadvertently by a healthcare provider or expert resulting in the claimant believing they have the injury and/or disability.
