Donald McKay was called to the bar in June 1986. He has extensive experience as a trial lawyer practicing personal injury law (both plaintiff and defence), insurance defence litigation, general civil litigation and criminal law (defence and prosecution). He has represented clients in all levels of court, including the British Columbia Supreme Court, the British Columbia Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
In 2001, Donald joined Carfra Lawton as an Associate Counsel and joined the Partnership in 2005 where his practice was focused exclusively on insurance defence work.
In 2010 Donald joined the firm of MacIsaac Law Group as senior litigation counsel and practiced primarily in the area of personal injury litigation and civil litigation throughout the province of British Columbia for the various satellite offices of MacIsaac Law Group.
In December of 2020 Donald returned to Carfra Lawton LLP as Associate Counsel where he will continue to represent our clients as senior counsel primarily in the field of insurance defence litigation.
Donald is the proud father of four daughters and for leisure he enjoys fishing and boating with his family.
