My Bio
When Jeremy Martin assesses a new file, every possible aspect of the case is taken into consideration. With over twenty years’ experience, Jeremy knows what to look for, how to find it and how best to use the evidence to achieve an early resolution to a claim. His practice covers complex personal injury and motor vehicle accidents, part 7 accident benefits claims, occupiers’ liability actions, property claims and coverage opinions for a number of insurers with major franchise operations.
Jeremy works closely with his clients and tailors his recommended strategy to the specific needs of each file, his knowledge of the plaintiff counsel and his understanding of each clients' preferred approach to claims resolution. Jeremy strives to be as accessible and proactive as possible in his communications with all the parties involved in a dispute. When an acceptable resolution cannot be reached, Jeremy’s clients benefit from his extensive trial experience in the BC Supreme Court and Provincial Court.
Jeremy oversees the firm’s day to day operations as the managing partner.

What advice would you offer someone starting out as an insurance defence lawyer?
The pace of business is so quick these days that you have to be highly responsive to meet clients’ expectations and constantly adapting to address clients’ evolving needs .
-
What is your deepest obsession outside of work?
I am a big sports fan and spend most weekends at a soccer pitch, softball diamond or in a gym proudly coaching or cheering from the sidelines as my two daughters enjoy their various athletic pursuits.
-
Most satisfying moments as an insurance defence lawyer?
Achieving an efficient settlement of a claim for a client is always satisfying, but its especially gratifying when you can get the matter resolved without using the full amount of the settlement authority.
