Originally from Squamish, Margot Liechti practiced law in Vancouver for 5 years before relocating to Victoria with her family in 2018. Margot’s litigation practice focuses on insurance and commercial matters, with an emphasis on fire loss claims, personal injury defence, occupiers’ liability and environmental matters.
Before becoming a lawyer, Margot spent almost a decade teaching science, English and math. She now combines her teaching expertise with her professional interests, volunteering with legal educational programs. She also co-authors a regular column for the International Association of Arson Investigators Journal.
When she is not at the office, Margot is a passionate advocate for mental health issues. She is a volunteer for the Access Pro Bono Society of BC Mental Health Program, advocating for persons certified under the Mental Health Act in mental health review panel hearings.
Margot joined the Carfra Lawton LLP team in November 2019.
