Malcolm J.C. Smith
Associate Counsel
Called to the BC Bar in 1997, Malcolm has been practicing civil litigation in this province for almost 30 years. He was called to the Yukon Bar in 2026.
As a young trial lawyer he developed a diverse trial practice including as ad-hoc Crown, and as trial counsel in commercial and forestry litigation.
For the last 25 years his practice focus has been insurance defence, and personal injury litigation.
His practical, easy-going, but frank approach to communication and file handling lends itself to cooperative and efficient dealings with opposing counsel, which provides his clients with predictable, cost-effective, and successful results.
He is adept at settling most actions prior to trial, in part as a result of his reputation for transparency and fairness, but if necessary, he is a seasoned and persuasive trial counsel
