Stephanie N. Dawes

Associate

Stephanie is an associate lawyer specializing in general insurance litigation. Stephanie has appeared in the BC Provincial Court, BC Supreme Court and BC Court of Appeal, as well as represented clients in alternative forms of dispute resolution, including mediations and settlement conferences.

Prior to her legal career, Stephanie served as a pathology attendant, conducting autopsies in the Vancouver Island area. This unique background provides her with a distinctive perspective in her legal practice. During her time at law school, Stephanie honed her legal analysis skills by serving as a research assistant for Harvard Law in their Animal Law & Policy Program. Her research focused on comparing international animal law to the laws in place in the United States. Furthermore, she shared her knowledge by teaching a supplemental learning class at TRU for first-year law students in the field of tort law. Stephanie’s commitment to accessible legal representation led her work at the UVic Law Centre during her last year of law school, where she provided legal services to clients who could not afford a lawyer.
